Location

Enjoy this part of the Maremma where Italian aristocrats and, lately, celebrities summer. This villa is in an area where you can walk to a small town where there are some shops and a restaurant.

Besides the joys of relaxing on the property, there are many wonderful places to visit while in the Maremma. The famous village of Bolgeri is nearby.

It is a bit more than hour to reach the stunning scenery of the coastal Maremma Regional Park. A beautiful place to enjoy a walk on some of its many trails. There are trails good for families and others for master hikers.

Within the park, watch for the Maremma butteri, the horsemen of the rugged coast of Tuscany. Their traditions date to Etruscan times, herding the distinctive and ancient breed of cattle of marshes.

This is the land of the Etruscans, the civilization that dominated central Italy before the rise of the Latins, the Romans. The Etruscans, or Tusci as the Romans called them, passed along the arch and writing together with a love of art and beauty to the eventual Roman empire. Be sure to visit some of the Etruscan sites in the area. Vetulonia, Populonia, Capalbio, Pitigliano, Sovana and Saturnia are some of them.

Exterior

As the driveway gates open, you are welcomed to a lush, green estate. There are is one other house on the property as well as the caretaker's home. The grounds are richly planted with fruit trees, fragrant flowers, olive trees and iconic umbrella pines tower above providing shade.

Stretching behind the villa is a view of the dunes, greenery and the gorgeous blue Mediterranean waters. A magnificent terrace, pool house and sparkling swimming pool complete this perfect picture. Past the pool is a private path to the beach.

Interior

A classically elegant villa in a old-world stye with modern bathroom and kitchen facilities is everything you can dream of in a Tuscany seaside villa.

Gracefully arched windows on two sides of the large living room bring the outside in. Several seating areas provide many options for relaxing and socializing. Beautiful and tasteful decorative touches throughout this room reflect the refined taste of the distinguished noble family the owns the villa, which as hosted dignitaries and even a few celebrities including the dashing George Clooney!

Beyond the living room is the main terrace, which is where you will likely spend a good part of your time, that is when you're not off exploring the wonders of the Maremma, wine tasting, dining on Tuscan cuisine, beach going or swimming in the pool. If you really want to spoil yourselves, you can have the housekeeper prepare a delicious picnic basket and the groundskeeper will bring it down to the beach for you.

A true cook's kitchen, laundry room and powder room are also located on this floor.

Upstairs are the bedrooms, topped by a third floor with a charming children's playroom and kitchenette.
