Weihnachtsmarkt Christmas Market

The city's largest Christmas market, the Weihnachtsmarkt, fills Piazza Santa Croce with holiday cheer. Estra Firenze Marathon and Expo

Athletes and running enthusiasts gather in Florence for the Estra Firenze Marathon, one of Italy's premier races. The main marathon takes place on 30 November, starting in front of the Florence Cathedral and following a scenic 42km route through the city before finishing in Piazza del Duomo. In the two days leading up to the race, the marathon expo at Stazione Leopolda showcases the latest in running gear and offers opportunities to connect with trainers and nutritionists. On 29 November, a 21km charity relay race allows teams of three to join in the excitement.
