Rome Apartment VV LR1
The Rome Via Veneto apartment is located two blocks off the beautiful, wide Via Veneto boulevard, an area of Rome that holds many memories for me. As a young girl growing up in Rome I attended Sunday school at a convent located on the same street and remember the strict nuns! As a teenager, my first job was as a shopgirl in a boutique on the Via Veneto so these were my stomping grounds . My colleagues and I used to look out the store windows and people-watch during slow hours, spotting celebrities who were sitting at the fashionable cafes that line the street. So I know this area well and have a special fondness for it.

At this apartment you will want for nothing as it is bright and clean and in a wonderful location in the heart of fashionable Rome. The Via Veneto remains a place to be seen, whether you are strolling and enjoying the window displays of the fashionable shops, or sipping a drink in the cafes that line the street. Many fine restaurants abound in the neighborhood. The American embassy and some of the grandest hotels in the city can also be found nearby.

The villa Borghese is just two blocks away so if you want to stroll, jog, or bicycle, it is very convenient. And if you have children, this is a great place to take them. Tethered in the Villa Borghese, there is a hot air balloon that you can ride up into the sky for a bird's eye view of Rome.

You are right at the top of the winding Via Veneto, near the Porta Pinciana gate of the ancient Roman walls. Stroll down the Via Veneto past myriad cafes, to Piazza Barberini and its Triton fountain. Via Sardegna intersects Via Veneto next to the Metro subway station. The Metro will whisk you off to places such as the Coliseum and the train station. And through the station escalators, you have an easy link to the Spanish Steps, which is your gateway to even more fashion shopping, more restaurants, and the Trevi fountain. Beyond are the Via del Corso, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, and Campo dei Fiori areas. Estimate five minutes walk to the Spanish Steps and fifteen to twenty minutes more to the Campo dei Fiori with many sights to see in between.  If you prefer to walk from the apartment to the Spanish Steps estimate about 20 minutes. The Rome Veneto apartment also has a rare feature: nearby public parking so if you're traveling by car and need a place to park you can park at the large underground parking garage two blocks away located under the Borghese Gardens.

The Via Veneto apartment is in a fine old building just off the Via Veneto. Although the streets in this area carry their share of local traffic, this apartment is internal and the street noise does not reach you here. Each room -- living room, kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom -- has a window onto the internal courtyard. There is nothing to remark in the view, but because you are high in the building, plenty of sunlight enters the apartment.

The apartment is about 800 sq. ft, was remodeled in 2005, has a comfortably-sized living room furnished with sofa and matching easy chair, coffee table, desk and chair, an entry table, and an entertainment center that contains a satellite television and European-standard DVD player. Guide books and paperback books are there for your use. The sofa converts into two twin beds.

The separate, eat-in kitchen has all you need to prepare and serve a lovely meal. There is, uniquely, a full height refrigerator with a freezer that will hold more than ice trays. A four burner gas cook top, oven, and microwave offer multiple cooking options. Make your coffee with a drip coffee maker or an Italian espresso pot. Pots, pans, utensils and dishes are all there as well as a

A single hallway links living room to bedroom, running past the kitchen and bath. It was remodeled to provide ample storage. The bathroom has a large shower stall and a stacked washer and dryer. A clothes dryer is another added feature that is a rarity in most Italy vacation rental apartments. The bedroom is comfortably sized with a queen sized bed, television, full length mirror and closet.
