This Florence apartment complements our popular Prisco and Michaela Florence vacation apartments which are located in the same building. The Strozzi apartment was crafted from what was once an extremely large family apartment, which has now been divided into a three vacation apartments: Prisco, Michaela and Strozzi. It is located on the third floor of a Reniassance building with elevator, off a gracious private hallway. It’s a nice retreat from the bustling streets of central Florence and gives you a glimpse into the daily lives of true Florentines who live and work in the historic center.

For larger parties in need of multiple apartments it can be booked, if desired, in conjunction with our Florence Prisco and Michaela vacation apartments, making it convenient so that familes and friends can be together yet each have their own private apartment with kitchen and bath.

The apartment was remodeled in late 2006. It has a mixture of new furniture and some antiques, including a charming antique-style kitchenette, new bed and a new sofabed from a high quality Italian manufacturer. The apartment faces the internal courtyard of the building and has a terrace off the living facing the interior. The small terrace doesn’t provide any views other then to the backs of the neighboring apartments, other service terraces and laundry lines. On the other hand, the internal terrace furnished with a table and 2 chairs provides a sunny, peaceful retreat in the midst of a busy small city.

The living room has a brand new sofabed that converts to two twin beds. A large double-window overlooking the internal courtyard gets good light. There is an efficiency kitchen for preparing simple meals. When the doors to the kitchenette are closed it looks like an antique armoire in the corner of the living room.

The bedroom is small but comfortable with two twin beds which can be made up as a king upon request, and a set of double windows overlooking the internal courtyard. The dressing room area that leads from the bedroom to the bathroom has large, floor-to-ceiling storage closets and a full-length mirror.

The white-tiled bathroom has a good-sized shower, washing machine and French doors that open to a second small internal terrace which is perfect for hanging laundry.

Neighborhood:
The most central and fashionable area in the historic center of Florence, directly off the famous Via Tornabuoni, where all the major Italian fashion boutiques are located. The area abounds with major historical sites, shops, restaurants and cafes. Plentiful local shops include a bakery on the same block, two alimentari (little grocery stores) with local specialties, restaurants, fruit and vegetable merchant. Only 15 minutes away by foot is the famous Florence Mercato Centrale, the large, covered market where you can get the freshest meats, produce, cheeses, flowers, pasta. Easy walk from the Santa Maria Novella train station. Local buses are excellent, but all the major sites are easily reachable by foot. Piazza Repubblica is 4 blocks, Palazzo Strozzi is 1 block, Uffizi Gallery, Ponte Vecchio, train station are all less then a 10 minute walk. Day buses to Siena, Pisa, Lucca available near the train station.
